W ramach badań nad emocjami w tańcu naukowcy koncentrują się głównie na ich ruchowej ekspresji. Niniejszy artykuł traktuje o konceptualizacji emocji w specyficznej praktyce ruchu — języku ruchu Gaga, stworzonej przez izraelskiego choreografa Ohada Naharina, która jest oparta na ruchowej interpretacji werbalnych instrukcji podczas improwizacji tanecznej. System werbalnej komunikacji odgrywa istotną rolę w praktyce Gaga. Emocje w ruchowych wskazówkach funkcjonują implicite i są ważnym elementem pracy z ruchem i ciałem tancerzy. Istotne w refleksji o funkcjonowaniu emocji w języku Gaga (...) są rozważania fenomenologiczne Edmunda Husserla oraz Marice’a Merleau-Ponty’ego na temat ciała, które wpłynęły również na współczesną koncepcję poznania ucieleśnionego. Kluczowym w analizie funkcjonowania emocji w języku ruchu Gaga jest zagadnienie dynamiki ujęte z perspektywy fenomenologicznej oraz językoznawczej. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest wykazanie, że: 1) emocje, choć nie pojawiają się bezpośrednio w instrukcjach Gaga, stanowią ważny element pracy twórczej tancerza; 2) ich funkcjonowanie, rozumienie i ruchowa interpretacja opiera się na metaforycznym rozumieniu różnych aspektów dynamiki; 3) dla zrozumienia funkcjonowania emocji podczas tańca istotne są fenomenologiczne analizy ciała. My text is treating about the dynamics as an element of music, which is possible to be found also in the poetic texts. It’s the new and creative theory, so all examples are very subjective and their meaning is understood only from my own prospect. In my point of view, we can indicate element of music which is dynamics (what means all changes connecting to volume), in the lyrics. The poet Stanisław Barańczak in his creativity was talking about (...) the most important and difficult things, that’s why it needed very impressive way of expression. (shrink)

Polish science fiction creates the presented world as dominated by totalitarian system. The government controls the distribution of information. Oposing that, citizens create their own means of diffusing information, designated as the Book. The Book makes readers realize the contradiction between the rules imposed by government and their own conscience. Besides, the act of reading symbolizes the process of growing to reach the truth. The very motif of the Book may be understood as allusion to unofficial literature, that emerged in (...) the early 80. years, while Polish science fiction was caming into being. (shrink)

The issue of mutual trust is an important element in each economic activity, especially in the global market economy. It also concerns insurance activity. Entering into contracts with clients, a life insurance company becomes a public trust institution. The long-term responsibility lies on the insurance company side. The act of 23 March 2003 on insurance activity sets forth that insurance institutions are obligated to systematically inform their insured clients about contract commitments. The paper shows some examples of clients losing (...) trust in insurance companies. It also defines public trust and the basic factors influencing public trust in life insurances. (shrink)

During the last several years we have witnessed heightened interest in the issue of CSR, which has been frequently raised at numerous conferences. In addition, a growing number of enterprises have become increasingly aware of the relevance of socially responsible actions and begun including them in the conducted business activity. CSR is gradually becoming an integral part of the company strategy. It is best demonstrated in companies with a large share of foreign capital, where Polish subsidiaries adopt patterns from the (...) parent companies. In the first two parts, the paper outlines the programs of CSR, their key elements and premises, as well as introduces the importance of the company strategy. The final part attempts to convince the reader that along the development of the CSR concept, a gradual process of converting theory into practice is taking place. The CSR programs are becoming an important element of the business strategy. Companies, bigger ones in particular, have begun to take account of the strategies closely interlinked with the very CSR programs. (shrink)

The problem of fires in Poland is an important element of public safety. One of the reasons ofthe fires are different types of arson of buildings, crops or forests. This paper presents a quantitative scale of the phenomenon of arson in Poland. Basing on data from the General Headquarters of the Police and Fire Headquarters it analyzes the scale offire danger. This paper presents gesture as an element of aesthetic experience of musical work. It focuses on specific dialectics of gesture in musical works as that which is visual or highlighted and at the same that which speaks to the listener. The difficulty in describing what constitute musical expressive gesture is there to guide us. The gesture stands in way of recognizing meaning and providing communication but at the same time that, which speaks to the listener is the most secluded, (...) intimate part of musical experience. The problem of car theft has been observed for many years. The largest scale of this phenomenon occurred in the 1990’s. In this paper, the issue is discussed in social, ethical and economic aspects. We present the scale of the phenomenon of the theft of passenger vehicles in Poland in the years 2001–2012 in terms of the number of vehicles, type of stolen vehicles and the accident areas. In addition, we present the cause of theft and selected ways to protect (...) cars from it. We also briefly discuss the role and responsibility of the insurance companies. (shrink)

One way of showing respect for human dignity is providing people with a suitable level of income security. This respect can be manifested by establishing a certain financial minimum that will allow people to function independently in society and use the opportunities offered by civilisation. The awareness of the above gives special meaning to the level of incomes obtained by the elderly. The fact that pensions are the primary resource for the population to meet its financial needs makes the pension (...) insurance solutions particularly important, especially the formula used for calculating the amount of a future pension. Its final amount will affect the pensioner’s standard of living, enabling them to enjoy the same quality of life they had in the period of economic activity or gradually causing impoverishment. The levels of future pensions depend on factors related to the systemic solutions, but pensioner’s personal characteristics also exert strong influence on their amounts. With the responsibility for having decent incomes after retirement being transferred to the insured themselves, it has become necessary to promote pension awareness (the knowledge of how the new system works) that translates into pension prudence prompting people to reduce voluntarily their current consumption in favour of future consumption. The public need to understand that the income replacement rate will be high only for few of the insured persons, i.e. those boasting high earnings and long, unbroken periods of economic activity. People with poorer records of economic activity will draw lower pensions that will not always allow them to live decent lives after retirement. (shrink)

The Personal Data Protection Act was enacted in 1997; it imposed some obligations on all the administrators of personal data regardless if acting as private or public establishments. The Act was intended to guarantee the safety of personal data and to ensure the right to controlling the data processing. However, since the enacting of the Act, there have been reported instances of its infringement, especially by private entrepreneurs. The numerous appealed complaints show that the entrepreneurs neglect their duty of ensuring (...) the safety of personal data (e.g. documents or media with such personal data), which results in unauthorised revealing the data to third parties. An especially serious case of the infringements of the Act and the rights of the persons concerned is selling the data without a person’s consent. In many cases the administrator only seemingly informs about the purposes of processing the data and then, in this or any other insidious way (among them an inacceptable presumption of consent), beguiles the necessary acceptance. The occurrences of neglecting duties imposed by the Act are to be considered not only as infringement of law, but also as unethical actions resulting in undermining customers’ confidence in entrepreneurs. For example: The unprotected data can be viewed and used by unauthorised parties to the detriment of the persons concerned (e. g. identity theft). The selling of the data is also a source of an unjustifiable profit for an entrepreneur and makes controlling of the processing of personal data impossible. Even if there are no negative consequences for the customer, the cases of infringement the Personal Data Protection Act bring about to undermine confidence not only in the entrepreneur (the source of personal data) but also in private establishments in general. W artykule argumentuję, że przedstawianie przebaczenia jako jednorazowego aktu, w którym ofiara decyduje się zaprzestać żywienia urazy do krzywdziciela, jest nadmiernym uproszczeniem. W moim ujęciu przebaczenie jest wieloaspektowym i różnorodnym procesem, który może przybierać rożne formy. Wybaczenie jednostronne jest procesem godzenia się ofiary z wyrządzoną jej krzywdą, przebiegającym na płaszczyznach poznawczej i emocjonalnej, który prowadzi do postawy otwartości na krzywdziciela. Jako proces dwustronny wybaczenie jest elementem naprawy relacji krzywdziciela z ofiarą, który wymaga współpracy i wzajemnego szacunku obu zaangażowanych (...) osób. Jeśli obu osobom zależy na pojednaniu i są gotowe zaakceptować prawdę o krzywdzie, możliwe staje się przywrócenie zaufania i przezwyciężenie kryzysu w relacji. (shrink)

W pracy została przedstawiona propozycja wyjaśnienia różnorodnych aspektów, w jakich przejawia się znaczenie językowe w poznaniu i komunikacji z perspektywy poznawczej genezy języka. Język został ujęty jako element systemu reprezentacji poznawczych, w którym zachodzą określone procesy przetwarzania informacji. Procesy informacyjne w układzie poznawczym człowieka leżą u podstaw związku języka z poznaniem świata i działaniem użytkownika języka w świecie. Są też one źródłem znaczenia językowego i jego różnorakich funkcji informacyjnych. Przeprowadzona analiza pokazuje, że nie można mówić o jednej (...) funkcji informacyjnej znaczenia. To, co uznajemy za znaczenie, nie jest jedną funkcjąjęzyka, taką samą we wszystkich wymienionych procesach, lecz wiązką różnych funkcji informacyjnych jakie pełni język, od znaczenia konwencjonalnego po kontekstowe. Takie ujecie zagadnienia pozwala wskazać wzajemne warunkowanie się różnych funkcji i aspektów znaczenia i ujmować je jako komplementarne a nie opozycyjne. (shrink)

Global changes in the world enforce to undertake various transformations also in the area of higher education. The aim of academic education is not more preparing to work in particular occupation, but rather to form appropriate abilities which are useful at the labour market. This kind of education must embody overall, multi-aspect character, because it prepares to lifelong learning. Therefore creating “learning society” one should make an effort into axiological dimension of scientific-technical advance. One ought to take heed of human (...) elements of education and first of all of ethical issues. Practise shows that human relations bereft of transcend and ethic dimension, but concentrating only on financial economical goods, on profit, market and competition, don’t bring anyone happiness. Hence there is an enormous demand in the academic community an ethical reflection. Thanks to it human being is not only improved in anthropological dimension, but also in social-economical aspect. W artykule analizuję pojęcie podmiotu w dialektyce w hermeneutyce F. Schleiermachera. Wychodzę od tezy: Schleiermacher poddaje krytyce refleksyjny model podmiotowości, który w tradycji filozofii niemieckiej najpełniej został wyartykułowany w pojęciu samougruntowującego się podmiotu. W "Dialektyce" stawia Schleiermacher oryginalną, na tle tradycji idealizmu niemieckiego, tezę o dialogicznej naturze procesu myślenia. Rozmowa nie jest - w myśl tego ujęcia - żadnym dodatkowym środkiem wymiany myśli, lecz oznacza konieczną drogę do poznania i do wiedzy. Dialektyka nie jest dlań, jak dla Hegla, samoświadomością myślenia (...) poruszającego się w zapośredniczeniu, lecz jest strukturą wspólnoty indiwiduów wzajem ze sobą rozmawiających. Komunikacja między podmiotami jest historią dialogicznego procesu rozgrywającego się między indiwiduami, na którego początku znajduje się spór, a na końcu zgoda. W ten sposób dokonuje on w Kaniowskiej koncepcji transcendentalnej filozofii zasadniczego zwrotu: do dwuczłonowej relacji podmiot-przedmiot wprowadza trzeci człon-inny podmiot; zamiast pytać o transcendentalny warunek poznania, pyta Schleiermacher o transcendentalny warunek dialogicznego procesu nakierowanego na zdobycie wiedzy. Krytyka refleksyjnego modelu podmiotu ma hermeneutyczne konsekwencje, ponieważ podmiot prawdy swoich poznań musi szukać na polu międzyludzkiej komunikacji. W artykule koncentruję się na pojęciu języka jako uniwersalnym przedmiocie hermeneutyki Schleiermachera. Teza moja jest następująca: język jest dla Schleiermachera systemem nieistniejącym, niezależnie od procesu mówienia. Dzięki hermeneutyce znak językowy staje się naprawdę znakiem językowym. Teza Heiedeggera i niektórych neostrukturalistów o autonomii języka jest fikcją. Każdy akt interpretacji odsyła do podmiotu, który go przeprowadza. Opowiadam się za hermeneutyką, która posługuje się kategorią podmiotu. (shrink)

Das Thema des Artikels sind sprachliche Fehler, die bei der schriftlichen Übersetzung aus dem Deutschen ins Polnische und aus dem Polnischen ins Deutsche Vorkommen. Das Ziel des Artikels ist, ihre Vielschichtigkeit und Entstehungsmechanismen zu zeigen, die vor allem mit der sprachlichen Interferenz als einer der Hauptursachen für Übersetzungsfehler zusammenhän gen. Der Artikel stützt sich auf die Ergebnisse der Untersuchungen, die in den Jahren 2004-2006 in der Abteilung für Angewandte Sprachwissenschaft am Lehrstuhl für Deutsche und Angewandte Sprachwissenschaft der Universität Łódź durchgeführt (...) wurden. Die Basis für das empirische Material bildeten hierbei durch Germanislikstudenten angefertigte schriftliche Übersetzungen. Am Anfang des Artikels werden verschiedene Definitionen und Klassifizierungsmöglichkeiten des sprachlichen Fehlers präsentiert. Desweiteren konzentriert sich der Autor auf das Phänomen der sprachlichen Interferenz und führt ihre Definitionen von W. Bondzio und T. Lewandowski an. Im weiteren Teil des Artikels wird die Frage der Interferenzmechanismen erörtert, zu denen die von J. Czochralski beschriebene Automatisierung der sprachlichen Strukturen, „zwischensprachliche Zuordnung“, „Übertragung des muttersprachlichen Modells“, fehlerhafte Erweiterung des Geltungsbereiches einer Aussage oder die Vermeidung besiimmter Elemente im System der Fremdsprache gehören. Im zweiten Teil des Artikels werden Ergebnisse der Forschungen präsentiert, deren Korpus einige Hunderte von deutsch-polnischen und polnisch-deutschen Übersetzungen waren, die von Studenten gemacht wurden. Die Fehler wurden zunächst nach der Richtung der Interferenz klassifiziert, dann nach den Sprachebenen. Besondere Aufmerksamkeit bei der Fehlerbeschreibung wurde аиГ die möglichen Störungen der sprachlichen Kommunikation gelenkt. Die durchgeführten Untersuchungen untermauern und erweitern die Thesen aus der Fachliteratur: Die Fehler kommen auf verschiedenen Sprachebenen vor und stören in vielen Fällen die sprachliche Kommunikation, deren Herstellung der Hauptzweck einer jeden Übersetzung ist. Der Autor des Artikels postuliert, bei der Übersetzungsdidaktik mehr Aufmerksamkeit der sprachlichen Interferenz zu widmen, was seiner Meinung nach zu besseren Resultaten verhelfen würde. (shrink)

The article presents the conception of biological conditionings of language in Konrad Z. Lorenz\'s approach. In Lorenz\'s works the category of fulguration is the main philosophical category. It means the creation of \'something new\' as result of the process of a sequence of phenomena that are causally related. Viewing the human race from the historical perspective Lorenz differentiates two important fulgurations, called superfulgurations. One of them is the transition from the \"experiencing I\" to the \"conscious I\". Development of man\'s mental (...) sphere made it possible to form \"verbal speech\". More broadly, in Lorenz\'s approach, also culture has its subjectivization in nature. Cognition is an element of an organism\'s behavior, and what is more, every mechanism of learning evolved phylogenetically. However, this does not result in strict determinism - various cultures are developed independently of one another. In the process of development of culture a special role is played by symbolization. Lorenz differentiates two types of symbols: symbols of a group (e.g. emblem) and language symbols. Language symbols were created in the regularity formed in the process of phylogeny, that is in conceptual thinking. In his philosophical explanation of the language structure Lorenz uses the data supplied by particular sciences. Moreover, language behaviors of particular people are conditioned by their personal experiences, and by the definite social and cultural milieu they live in. (shrink)

Prakseologia jako praktyka czynu zainicjowana przez francuskiego intelektualistę Alfreda Espinasa i Aleksandra Bogdanowa to nauka o wszelkich sprawnościach ludzkiej działalności. Jak piszą Tadeusz Kotarbiński oraz Tadeusz Pszczołowski: będąc metodologią ogólną, której działania koncentrują się wokół wyodrębniania i systematyzacji bogactwa różnorodnych form działania, prakseologia staje się także próbą ich usprawnienia i upraktycznienia. To upraktycznienie zakłada analizę rzeczywistości oraz przyjęcie pewnych sposobów obchodzenia się z zasobami możliwości. Zatem prakseologia już jako tektologia każe nazywać wszelkie możliwe działanie organizowaniem lub łączeniem w (...) całość bogatego i skomplikowanego spiętrzenia zasobów. Jednym z efektów tego spiętrzenia powinna być gwarancja dopasowania środków do założonego celu, a zarazem towarzysząca temu okazja uzyskania optimum rezultatu. Artykuł pokazuje, że elementy prakseologiczne uobecniają się współcześnie w procesie coachingowym. Dzięki temu coaching jako aktywna forma komunikacji dialogicznej jest obecnie jedną z najskuteczniejszych form wspierania drugiego człowieka w samodzielnym odkrywaniu własnych zdolności oraz potencjału zasobów pozwalających sprawnie realizować wyznaczane cele. Cultural images of the world as a condition for the autonomy of music. The general aim of the essay is to pose the question of the relationship between the elements of a socially shared, general image of the world (using Aaron Gurevich’s terminology) and the possibility of constructing the idea of autonomous music. Musical autonomy is understood here as the thesis that the order of music is independent from any other order, e.g. social, cultural etc. Hence the focus of these (...) considerations is on cultural images of music that situate music beyond external social conditions. Several possibilities of this type are considered, such as the Pythagorean connection between music and the cosmic order, the Iranian concept of Aša, and the ancient Chinese connection between music and the cosmo-political order. Shamanism is considered as a possible archaic source for this kind of mental operation. These considerations do not aim at any kind of archaistic reduction, but rather at describing the cultural-historical conditions that made the very idea of autonomous music possible. Elementy kulturowego obrazu świata jako warunek autonomizacji muzyki. Celem artykułu jest postawienie pytania o zależność między elementami społecznie podzielanego, ogólnego obrazu świata (w terminologii Aarona Gurevicha) a możliwością ukonstytuowania idei autonomii muzyki. Autonomia ta rozumiana jest jako teza o niewywiedlności zasad muzyki z odmiennych względem niej porządków: społecznych, kulturowych, itp. Przedmiotem rozważań są zatem takie kulturowe obrazy muzyki, które usuwają ją ze społecznej empirii poprzez powiązanie z porządkiem innego rodzaju. Omówionych zostaje kilka możliwości tego typu, w tym pitagorejskie skojarzenie muzyki z ideą kosmosu, perskie z ideą Aša, czy chińskie z porządkiem kosmogonicznym i politycznym zarazem. Jako możliwe archaiczne podłoże dla tego rodzaju operacji podany zostaje przykład szamanizmu. Celem rozważań nie jest przy tym redukcja autonomistycznego myślenia o muzyce do archaicznych obrazów świata, lecz poszukiwanie historyczno-kulturowych warunków, które umożliwiły późniejszą konstrukcję idei muzyki autonomicznej. This contribution investigates the use of the Czech particle jako in naturally occurring conversations. Inspired by interactional research on unfinished or suspended utterances and on turn-final conjunctions and particles, the analysis aims to trace the possible development of jako from conjunction to a tag-like particle that can be exploited for mobilizing affiliative responses. Traditionally, jako has been described as conjunction used for comparing two elements or for providing a specification of a first element [“X like Y”]. (...) In spoken Czech, however, jako can be flexibly positioned within a speaking turn and does not seem to operate as a coordinating or hypotactic conjunction. As a result, prior studies have described jako as a polyfunctional particle. This article will try to shed light on the meaning of jako in spoken discourse by focusing on its apparent fuzzy or “filler” uses, i.e., when it is found in a mid-turn position in multi-unit turns and in the immediate vicinity of hesitations, pauses, and turn suspensions. Based on examples from mundane, video-recorded conversations and on a sequential and multimodal approach to social interaction, the analyses will first show that jako frequently frames discursive objects that co-participants should respond to. By using jako before a pause and concurrently adopting specific embodied displays, participants can more explicitly seek to mobilize responsive action. Moreover, as jako tends to cluster in multi-unit turns involving the formulation of subjective experience or stance, it can be shown to be specifically designed for mobilizing affiliative responses. Finally, it will be argued that the potential of jako to open up interactive turn spaces can be linked to the fundamental comparative semantics of the original conjunction. (shrink)

FREEDOM AS THE DIVINE FOUNDATION OF HUMANNES. FYODOR DOSTOEVSKY’S ANTHROPOLOGICAL CONSIDERATIONS No doubt, freedom is the main topic in the works of Dostoevsky. There is probably no other artist and thinker who would say about freedom more - broadly and profoundly describing all its complexity. Freedom constitutes the humanity and at the same time it is the greatest threat to mankind. Man gets freedom as a gift from God, as a key element of his ontic structure. This gift can (...) be a curse, the engine of destruction, ballast, which one need to quickly dump on someone's shoulders. According to Dostoevsky, a man bows his head humbly before the miracle, authority and wealth. He gives his freedom to those who will show him even a semblance of a miracle, will gain an advantage over him, or provide material prosperity. Freedom becomes ill when used arbitrary, enslaves the other, leads to violence and dehumanization. (shrink)

Fast and intensive development of natural science (especially quantitative physics) and computer science make us think about the philosophy of nature. In this article we would like to show that a new subject of the philosophy of nature is the virtual world. The first step was to analyse some words like the following: virtuality, potentiality, reality. In this context we propose a definition of the virtual world as a real view created or reconstructed by intellectual or technical simulation. The next (...) step was analyzed the objects and levels of virtual world. We emphasise the technical-communicational level and computer technology associated with it (the Internet, chat, blog, virtual shops); the second level is the biological level which is connected with the objects produced by the brain (thinking, imagination, research projects); the third level is the theoretical level with the virtual elements. On the ground of this classification we have shown that the virtual world and the objects are not homogeneous. The last part of this paper presents the beginning of the virtual world (creation or reconstruction in the intellectual and technical simulation). Our analyses are connected with Plato and his idealism, Aristotle and his realism, and Popper’s/Penrose’s proposition. (shrink)

They are connected mostly with Kmita’s thesis about the primary role of culturally created vision of the world as the necessary background of each knowledge. The political aspect of fundamental role playing today by cultural sciences is linked with the main role played by information in today world and especially in so called cognitive capitalism. Author’s thesis is that cultural sciences can take critical shape showing the relative character of all dogmas of today capitalism or they can play effective role in capitalist world as important and useful element of its mechanisms. Opracowanie zmierza do określenia paradygmatu rozumienia klauzuli dobra wspólnego zawartej w art. 1 Konstytucji z 1997 r. i treści sformułowanej w nim zasady. Argumentuje się, że – m. in. ze względu na zachowanie materialnej tożsamości konstytucji – kluczowa dla realizacji postawionego celu jest analiza prac przygotowawczych. Analiza ta pozwala na postawienie tezy, że dobro wspólne to – określana na płaszczyźnie wspólnoty politycznej – suma warunków życia społecznego umożliwiających i ułatwiających rozwój wszystkich członków tej wspólnoty i tworzonych przez nich społeczności. Szeroko (...) przedstawiona jest szersza, sięgająca starożytności, filozoficzna tradycja ideowa leżąca u podstaw identyfikowanego paradygmatu konstytucyjnego pojęcia dobra wspólnego, oraz polskie tradycje konstytucyjne powiązane z podjętą problematyką. Argumentuje się, że ustrojodawca wskazał określoną tradycję ideową jako wyznaczającą podstawowy kontekst wyznaczający rozumienie klauzuli dobra wspólnego oraz wprost zdystansował się wobec centralnych elementów ujęcia dobra wspólnego właściwego konstytucji kwietniowej z 1935 r., pozostając w tradycji, do której należała Konstytucja 3 Maja. Sformułowana w art. 1 Konstytucji z 1997 r. zasada dobra wspólnego głosząca, że „Rzeczpospolita Polska jest dobrem wspólnym wszystkich obywateli”, sytuuje dobro wspólne u podstaw całego porządku konstytucyjnego. Po zidentyfikowaniu zasadniczych elementów tej zasady argumentuje się, że jest ona zasadą pierwszą, strukturalnie powiązaną z każdym elementem systemu prawnego. Argumentuje się na rzecz tezy o integralnym powiązaniu dobra wspólnego z godnością i uznaniu wolności i praw człowieka za zasadniczy element dobra wspólnego. Opracowana koncepcja zostaje zaaplikowana do orzecznictwa Trybunału Konstytucyjnego. Przeprowadzona analiza wskazuje, że orzecznictwo to nie jest, jak dotąd, oparte na spójnej koncepcji dobra wspólnego. Nierzadko przyjmowana jest perspektywa typowa dla – odrzuconego przez ustrojodawcę – ujęcia w duchu konstytucji kwietniowej, w której dobro wspólne przeciwstawiane jest prawom człowieka; obecne są jednak także elementy typowe dla ujęcia klasycznego, w duchu Konstytucji 3 Maja. Analizę dopełniają postulaty dotyczące dalszego kształtowania orzecznictwa TK odwołującego się do dobra wspólnego. (shrink)

Lektorzy pracujący ze studentami kierunków niefilologicznych szczególnie wyraźnie odczuwają, iż kompetentne nauczanie języka obcego nierozerwalnie wiąże się z przekazywaniem wiedzy o kulturze i historii kraju lub krajów, w którym jest on używany. Bez takiej koherencji wiele zjawisk (jak choćby idiomy, specyfika frazeologii czy nietypowe konstrukcje gramatyczne powstałe pod wpływem historycznych kontaktów międzynarodowych) pozostanie w znacznej mierze niezrozumiałe dla osób uczestniczących w lektoracie. Na kwestię „przemycania” w trakcie zajęć językowych wiadomości o dziejach danego kręgu kulturowego spojrzeć można jednak nie tylko z (...) perspektywy nauczyciela języka, ale również z punktu widzenia historyka. Niniejszy artykuł stanowi pokłosie takich właśnie rozważań nad obrazem rodzimej historii, jaki przekazywany jest w trakcie lektoratu języka polskiego obcokrajowcom studiującym w Rzeczypospolitej inne kierunki aniżeli polonistyka. Analizie poddano pomoce edukacyjne, a ściślej wybrane podręczniki tworzone przez natywnych użytkowników języka polskiego, powstałe po 2005 r. Cezura ta podyktowana jest zachodzącymi w glottodydaktyce na przestrzeni ostatniego półwiecza zmianami w podejściu do nauczania aspektów kulturowych. Jako efekt tych dociekań starano się przedstawić następujące kwestie. Po pierwsze: stan badań nad omawianym problemem na przestrzeni końca wieku XX i początku XXI w. przy jednoczesnym porównaniu z ukazującymi się wówczas publikacjami przeznaczonymi do nauczania specjalistycznego języka polskiego w zakresie innych dyscyplin. Po drugie: typologię zagadnień z historii Rzeczypospolitej, jakie wprowadzono do nauczania tegoż języka jako obcego z podkreśleniem postaci, wydarzeń i miejsc, które wyjątkowo często wykorzystywane są w analizowanych materiałach dydaktycznych. Po trzecie: problem możliwości skorelowania rzeczonej typologii z poziomami nauczania języka obcego określonymi w ESOKJ. Wiodącym wynikiem powyższych rozważań jest konkluzja, iż obraz dziejów Polski odmalowywany przed obcokrajowcami za pomocą tekstów niewątpliwie przemyślanych i wartościowych w swej warstwie językoznawczej z punktu widzenia historyka jest niekompletny (zwłaszcza w odniesieniu do okresu nowożytnego i wieku XX). Przez to zaś może prowadzić słuchaczy z innych kręgów kulturowych do niezrozumienia polskiej specyfiki cywilizacyjnej i rzutować na poprawność komunikacji językowej. Sytuacja taka zwiększa zarazem zakres odpowiedzialności lektorów za choćby częściowe uzupełnienie niedostatków występujących w materiałach dydaktycznych. (shrink)

The theories of Henri Lefebvre on the Production of Space have influenced our understanding of the ontology of space. The processes of constructing and “appropriating” space are important elements of man’s political activity. Space is not neutral: its alleged objectivity is treated in a voluntary manner, depending on political demand. The importance given to geographical space and the supposed “laws” governing history are instruments of political indoctrination or propaganda justification of the pursued policy pursued. Space is political and ideological. Borders, (...) political maps and states are the products of human political activity; they are “socially produced”. In contemporary political geography, the theme of “the production of space” is very popular. The main goal of the article is to analyse the currently important research category – “geographical imaginations”. This category is mainly used to understand our perception of space and the roots of political conflicts. (shrink)

A work of music as an artefact is a particular acoustic material. However, the sounds are not identical with music since they only constitute the external appearance of a musical work and its most explicit layer, while aesthetic perception is certainly not limited to the superficial perception of sounds. Contemporary research in the field of fine arts by Gottfried Boehm and Georges Didi-Huberman showed new possibilities of revealing the hidden inner phenomenality of a work of art. Yet, is it possible (...) to apply the methodology of research on the invisible visuality of a painting to the field of non-acoustic sound of a musical work? What kind of additional research problems does a work of music cause, taking into account the fact that it is not only created by its author-composer, but it also requires a re-creational performance to phenomenally exist? The article provides the critical analysis of Roman Ingarden’s views on the subject of a musical work and indicates the need to expand the research horizon as regards the issue of nonsounding elements of music. The article aims mainly at bringing new research perspectives on a work of music in the light of contemporary phenomenology. (shrink)

The article attempts to prove whether some elements of New Deal make it a revolutionary phenomenon. When thinking of New Deal as a model of revolution it can be said that the revolutionary change was the liberation of the bureaucratic class. It was the government that was liberated from the power of citizens. Therefore, it can also be said that the change was made without no change in the political system. The United States of America remained a democratic country but (...) the power was transferred from the citizens to the bureaucratic apparatus. This, apart from the violent character of the changes, could have caused Garrett to define Neal Deal as a revolution that happened behind the back of the biggest opponents of revolution. (shrink)

The aim of the text is an elaboration of the Moses Mendelssohn’s aesthetics and its connections to the German philosophical thought of Enlightenment. I analyze the issue of sensations and so-called mixed sensations and I argue that they are the necessary condition of cognition. I present the relations between aesthetics and ethics and I elaborate so-called theory of three faculties. I argue that sense is an element conjoining action and cognition.

Tradycyjna sylogistyka proponuje wysnuwanie wniosku o relacji między dwoma zbiorami z dwóch przesłanek kategorycznych, z których każda stwierdza coś o relacji łączącejjeden z tych zbiorów z trzecim (którego nazwa stanowi tzw. termin średni). Od średniowiecza znana jest metoda sprawdzania poprawności formalnej sylogizmu na podstawie wnikliwej oceny jego składni, a od XIX wieku również metoda graficznego przedstawiania przesłanek na diagramie Venna dla trzech zbiorów, których wzajemne relacje stanowią temat sylogizmu. W diagramie tym pewną trudność stanowi pojawiająca się w wielu przypadkach niepusta (...) suma obszarów. W przedstawianym artykule proponuje się nową metodę przedstawienia przesłanek sylogizmu, polegającą na prezentacji obszarów, w których mogą lub muszą według przesłanek znajdować się elementy zbiorów, i tych obszarów, które z pewnością są puste. W szczególności dla niepustej sumy obszarów proponuje się wykorzystanie relacji rotalnej między dwoma obszarami tworzącymi niepustą sumę i możliwe ujednoznacznienie tej relacji przez wskazany w przesłance pusty obszar diagramu. Rotal relation and an empty region as a tool for deciding the validity of traditional sylogism moods as exemplified by selected third figure ones Traditional syllogistics sugests inferring a result about the binary relation between sets from the two categorical premisses each of which state something about a relation between one of them to a third set (whose name is called the middle term). Since the Middle Ages it is known how to check the formal correctness of a syllogism by the detailed analysis of its syntax, and since the 19th century also how to present the premisses graphically on the Venn diagram for three sets, whose mutual binary relations consttute the subject of syllogistics. The non-empty sum of subregions is sometimes not very comfortable to deal with. In the paper a new method is described for presenting syllogisms premisses, which consists in indicating the subregions, in which the premisses say some elements may or have to be located and those subregions which are announced empty. In particular, for the non-empty sum of two regions the rhotal relation is suggested together with the the possible corresponding empty region, had it been suitably indicated by one ot he premisses. The local press performs significant functions, not only informing the inhabitants of a given city about matters close to them, but also implementing the ideas of regionalism by promoting a “small homeland”, integrating a given community, and reflecting the life of people living in a specific territory. The aim of the article is to present one of the local periodicals – namely Wiadomości – 43 bis –and to attempt to answer the following research questions: how did the analysed periodical change (...) in 1989–2014? What was its strength and what was its weakness? Did it fulfill the functions assigned to this type of press, matching the definition of local magazines? What elements made it remain in the demanding press market, in which the rules seem to be dictated not only by the recipients themselves, but also by strong and well-established media concerns, which also invest in the regional press market? The paper can potentially contribute to further research on the press in the Łódź region. (shrink)

THE COMPOSITES OF MATTER AND FORM AS THE ONTIC FOUNDATION OF PLURALISM IN ARISTOTLE’S PHILOSOPHY S u m m a r y The question under consideration is an attempt to present the ontic foundations for a pluralistic interpretation of reality, the interpretation specific of Aristotle’s metaphysics. This text shows the way to understand being as substance and indicates its composite structure. The being’s composite of matter and form as subontic elements is principal in the context of ontic pluralism. It is (...) a foundation on which to comprehend being both in the context of identity and variability. Despite the fact that the principal constitutive factor is form, it is only owing to the being’s composite of matter and form, and the specific relationship between these elements, that we can explain the ontic structure of reality. A review of the modes of being has been made with a view to matter and form (in Aritotle’s sublunary and superlunary spheres of the world). The modes of matter and form and their specific ontic character reveal the real foundations of the ontic plurality and variability in the world. There is no contradiction in the fact that the formal factor actualizes the material factor because these elements create a whole—being-substance—only in combination. (shrink)

Since the Restitution of Land Rights Act 22 of 1994 came into operation, courts have come to attach considerable significance to historian expert testimony when ruling on land claims that made it to court. Therefore, a universal approach had to be adopted. Over the years the Supreme Court of Appeal and Constitutional Court have developed tried and tested methodologies to aid the courts in determining the weight and admissibility of a witness' testimony. In the Salem Commonage case, both the Land (...) Claims Court and the majority of the Supreme Court of Appeal deviated from these precedents by adopting arguably a broader interpretation of the Act than intended. The case is unique in the sense that the dispute involves a commonage that was subdivided via a court order in 1940, resulting in the removal of the remaining black African population from that land. The question therefore was whether or not this group of people fulfilled the requirements for a valid claim as set out in the Act. The Land Claims Court and Supreme Court of Appeal felt that it had. The landowners applied for leave to appeal to the Constitutional Court. The application was granted, but in his judgment, Edwin Cameron agreed with the rationale of both courts, and held that there was a valid claim. This was despite the fact that the testimony of the claimants' 'star witness', Msile Nondzube, was heavily criticised by the landowners as well as a Supreme Court of Appeal judge. The Constitutional Court emphasised that the Act was an extraordinary piece of legislation and had to be interpreted in such a way so as to address the injustices of the past. This included provisions of the Act which dealt with how oral and expert evidence would be dealt with. (shrink)
